It’s not that he took it too far, it’s that conservatives realized that the guy who just saved them from drowning has a checkered past and a surly temperament. The gratitude I feel outweighs my alienation from his harsh style and intemperate morals. He is a fighter. He woke us up and showed that we can fight and win. He showed up and fought our fight and saved our asses. We could use a few more like him.
