I don't mean to be critical of one of our most important counter voices against the evils of the current administration. Mockery is a legitimate political tool in the debate which is still allowed, even as freedom of speech is under persistent attack. But mockery tends to undermine the seriousness of the current state of affairs. And by far the greatest threat to the future of a great nation is the extraordinary ignorance by the public at large of just how serious the situation is.
