An excellent analysis. I have never believed the Chinese threat. I remember everyone believed the Japanese would conquer the world when they bought Rockefeller Centre. The demographic time bomb in China, briefly referred to, is its biggest problem. But why do we need an established list of enemies? Perhaps our own hegemony requires it? I guess the vast bureaucracy which is the State Department needs it.
