I am satisfied (if saddened) that my favourite psephologist finally admits that the Democrats will prevail again in 2024. The almost 50% approval rating of Biden says it all. Returning from a brief trip to the US, it seems my fellow citizens are living in a fantasy land. They clearly prefer outrageous lies enunciated and repeated by a well turned out, soft spoken, kindly, favourite doddering uncle figure, to blatant truths shouted by a badly dressed vulgarian with a funny hair do. And whatever happened to the American habit of valuing success over failure? An extraordinary reversal has occurred. Those unfazed by political priority attached to the protection of less than one half percent of the population (so called "trans), whose rights don't seem to have been violated, should reflect how easy it is for dictatorships to give equal priority to the suppression of rights of a majority.
