This Week’s Rants and Raves
RAVE - FEDERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT: - The FBI was spot-on in identifying and nabbing package-bomber Cesar Sayoc, as was the DOJ in charging the evil man with five felonies, and doing it all so quickly. This - - is what federal law enforcement is supposed to do.
RANT - BILLIONAIRE TOM STEYER: The leftist funder of the campaign for Trump’s impeachment reacted to being sent a suspicious package by blaming the president and tweeting his feeling that a “systematic attack on our democracy that extends much further than just one isolated terrorist in Florida. That is why we are running an impeachment petition to end the culture of lawlessness in our country.” There was no Steyer outrage when Susan Collins received a letter that was contaminated with ricin because this liberal Californian is apparently OK with attempts to kill Republicans.
RAVE - JOSH HAWLEY: The Missouri Republican candidate for US Senate has surged past Democrat Claire McCaskill in the polls. With each debate, he put her on the defensive, when she struggled to prove she represented Missouri’s values and interests. Even independent voters observed McCaskill lost her way in the third debate, hesitating to find the right words and delivering a disorganized closing argument. Hawley’s message has resonated with Missouri voters: “I think Senator McCaskill would be a tremendous senator from Hollywood...but she does not represent the people of Missouri anymore...she has not accepted what the people said in 2016.”
RANT - THE CENTRAL AMERICAN CARAVAN: These people should concern every American, especially our elected leaders, because this socio-political crusade intends to enter the USA by brute force. Current estimates range from 4,000 to 6,000 people, after Mexico peeled off 1,700 with work permits. Residents of other nations must understand neither their socio-economic nor political situation entitles them entry into the USA - unless it is welcomed, legal and documented. The USA invests billions to aid poor Central Americans, but our charity cannot include open borders and permanent residency for all comers. Trump is 100% right on this one.
RANT - DOMESTIC ANTISEMITISM: 46-year-old Robert Bowers was a hater, posting derogatory comments about Jews, refugees and President Trump on social media...long before Hell broke loose in his mind, entering a Pittsburg synagogue with a rifle and three handguns, and murdering eleven and wounding six on Saturday. Right-minded Americans are in shock over the deadliest attack on the Jewish community in US history.
Bowers was charged with multiple hate-crimes, and President Trump called for the death penalty. More must be done: sectarian hatred on public display and social media should no longer be protected by the 1st Amendment, because it is obviously no different than yelling “fire” in a crowded theater. Today’s USA is now home to institutionalized hatred and it is obvious our cultural constructs must be changed to remain a pluralist and tolerant society. E Pluribus Unum is under attack.
